The new album, coming Nov. 15th, 2024:
Songs of Surviving in the City, Vol. 1
Over the years, J.M. Kearns has written many songs that are not love songs, and this album has 11 of them.
They are about day jobs and unemployment and art and money and envy and yearning and depression and family and old age and loss — and sex. All the nasty, cruel, lovely things.
The album is now available in pre-release on Bandcamp. There you can listen to the songs and enjoy extensive track notes, including the story behind each song, musician credits, full lyrics, and photos. And you can purchase downloads if you wish.
Bandcamp is one of the few sites where listeners can support artists they like, instead of watching them be ripped off on the big streaming sites. That’s right, you can buy a song for $1, or an album for $7, and most of that money goes to the artist. Who knew?
Below are previews of two songs from the new album, and a video.
